Vomiting and diarrhoea
Vomiting and diarrhoea are common in adults, children and babies. They’re often caused by a bug and get better in a few days.
BackCommon Symptoms
- Feeling sick (nausea)
- Diarrhoea
- Being sick (vomiting)
- Temperature 38c or above
- Headache
- Aching arms or legs
Treatment at home
- Stay at home and get plenty of rest
- Drink lots of fluids
- Eat when you feel able to – you don’t need to eat or avoid any specific foods
- Take paracetamol if you’re in discomfort
When should I book a GP?
- You have signs of dehydration (dark smelly pee or peeing less than usual)
- You need to stop diarrhoea for a few hours
