GPDQ Extends North Central London Community Health Clinics Partnership

Leading UK primary healthcare provider, GPDQ, is pleased to announce the expansion of its successful community health clinic initiative in partnership with five boroughs across North Central London.

Since its launch in July 2024, the programme has provided vital health checks to local residents, with a specific focus on early detection and prevention of type 2 diabetes and hypertension. From an initial 12 community-based clinics which will run until June 2025, the partnership will then be extended to five further clinics across Camden, Haringey, Islington, Enfield, and Barnet.

To date, nearly 150 people have attended these clinics, with approximately 53% of clinic attendees flagged as ‘at-risk’ of type 2 diabetes, and a number of individuals also signposted to their GP for follow-up regarding pre-diabetes concerns. Additionally, 58% have also received tailored lifestyle advice aimed at reducing their risk of developing serious health conditions.

GPDQ’s community health clinics offer free 15-minute appointments where healthcare professionals conduct essential checks like blood pressure, BMI, and blood sugar levels. With type 2 diabetes cases rising and nearly one million undiagnosed, early detection is crucial. By identifying at-risk individuals and offering lifestyle advice, the initiative helps residents take proactive steps in managing their health.

Charles Adebayo, Head of NHS Partnerships at GPDQ, commented: “We are proud to be making a real difference in our communities by expanding access to these vital health clinics. Diabetes is a growing medical challenge in the UK, and early detection is essential in preventing serious long-term complications. By bringing these services directly into the heart of local communities, we are ensuring that more people can access the support they need. We look forward to continuing delivering these clinics.”

With a commitment to improving healthcare accessibility, GPDQ continues to work closely with local NHS partners to ensure that individuals receive timely, high-quality preventative care. An example of this was GPDQ’s partnership with Barnet Council, where the company delivered a successful 2-year Community Health Programme that started in 2022.
